Millmerran Shire borders Queensland's Darling Downs and Western Downs regions. Enjoy the best of what both regions have to offer - see the rich black soils and farming landscapes of the Darling Downs, while enjoying the great inland fishing for which the Western Downs is loved... Millmerran offers the visitor great photo opportunities with a series of bold historical murals with each of these larger-than-life murals telling a tale of the past. Millmerran is also home to two big events - the Australian Camp Oven Festival (every even numbered year) and the National Open Rendezvous (every odd numbered year).

Cecil Plains is a township on the banks of the Condamine River and is home to Queensland Cotton's Cecil Plains Gin, a modern six stand plant, about five kilometres west of the township. The Gin operates from April to August, ginning up to 1500 bales per day.
